of the year 2012 prize-winner

I had a phone call from London today telling me I was a
prize-winner in Artist and Illustrator magazines, Artist of the Year 2012.
It’s always nice when other people like what you've painted; it sort of reinforces the faith in your own work.
It was
great news simply to be chosen, especially from so many entries, but to
actually win a prize; I suppose you could say it was the icing on The Last Piece
of Cake.
