Oil on canvas 22cm x 14cm

A bee trembled spray of lilac and green; lavender released perfumed air under a gentle shudder. I’ve never seen so many bees on one plant. Hovering like black and yellow flowers, they set to work on the tips of this well farmed plant, from sun up to sun down. It’s easy to overlook what's under our nose.
Up close there were 3 types of bees throbbing away, engrossed in activity. That was Sunday in a sun drenched garden.  Bank Holiday Monday was drenched in rain, and the lavender stood silent.
Looking closer though, it’s still full.  It has a bee sheltering under every flower; no doubt praying for the sun, thinking… time is honey.
