Out Of the Blue.

18 cm x 10 cm oil on canvas mounted on board.

One of the 'Still Life With a Twist' series that I've revisited and tidied up a little; I never originally liked the background, I was too interested in the main idea but this one looks a little better. I think it serves to remind me that all areas of the study play their part.

They're Not Real.

A painting from pancake Tuesday. Yellow takes so long to dry before it can be scanned.

Talking Heads, Still life painting

21cm x 14cm acrylic on canvas

In Mousehole that morning the village opened its eyes to warm sunshine and chimney smoke before gently easing about its business. Heavy birds sat on sagging clothesline roofs. Old men in bright yellow waders were talking on the harbour sand, fish heads at their feet, wide eyes and silent silver mouths.

The Usual Suspects.

21cm x 14cm oil on canvas board.

· SOLD

Revisted a painting I did some time ago and never got a picture of, so I did another. The usual suspects started me off on the whole ,'still life with a twist', series of paintinings.

Still Life with a Twist.

All oil on card 21cm x 14cm.

I managed to revamp these paintings with the help of Letraset, which proved surprisingly hard to find. My daughter also showed me the joys of scanning the small images that I produce instead of the lengthy process of photographing and getting the light right. The scan cuts out all the messing about and renders the darker colours like black with little or no glare and doesn’t leave the picture at the mercy of the light source, which can be too cool or too warm.
