There are three strands to work at Editions which will be on show, the Liverpool paintings, the landscapes and still life.
May 2010 saw the beginning of a yearlong project painting the city of Liverpool which culminated in 125 pieces of work. In the coming months the paintings will be featured in consecutive issues of Leisure Painter magazine.
Then landscapes are the result of frequent visits to the West Penwith coast in Cornwall.
The still life paintings are part of a series which includes the addition of text for still life with a twist.

I pass the old antique shop most days but today the three primaries of red, yellow and blue just seemed to stand out. I have some Liverpool paintings, printed onto acrylic in a group show at the Gallery by Cain’s brewery. It starts on Friday 13^th May, the web says we’re not on until the week after but I’ve been assured it's wrong.

Liverpool painting No.120. Salthouse Dock

21cm x 14cm, acrylic on canvas, £90

Completed yesterday, the year long, 'May I start May I finish', project that produced 120 studies of the city is officially over but it's a project I'm sure will continually run. Maybe I’ll be totally original and call it, ‘May I start May I finish II’.

Print and art fair at Leaf on Bold Street

I haven't painted much this week I've been too busy trying to get prints etc for the art fair at the newly opened Leaf on Bold Street. It runs from 11-5 on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April. I will have original works from the Liverpool Paintings, some actual size copies on acrylic, and fingers crossed some prints and cards. There will also be some still life and Cornish works, both original and prints. There will be lots of other artists there showing their work too, and entrance is free, so hopefully I’ll see you there.
